What versions of Microsoft Access are pre-requisite? A full version of either Access 2000, Access XP (2002), or Access 2003 installed on the same computer as Access2PDF is necessary. The Access run-time engine alone is not sufficient to support Access2PDF. What web servers support Access2PDF? Your choice of web server depends largely on your choice of application language. In other words, the language used to invoke the Access2PDF COM object must be supported by the web server. We use Microsoft IIS 5.0 for its support of ASP. Our examples run on IIS. What gets installed, when I install Access2PDF? Major components include:
Refer to the software's Readme.txt included with the installation for a complete list of installed components. I have installed Access2PDF version 1.5.0 and want to upgrade to 1.5.1. What do I have to do? You must uninstall version 1.5.0 before installing 1.5.1. Initiate the uninstall from the "Add and Remove Programs" module of your Control Panel. I already have Win2PDF installed on the computer on which I will install Access2PDF. Will this pose a problem? Yes. At this time, the version of Win2PDF that installs with Access2PDF cannot coexist with other Win2PDF versions on the same computer. We intend to remedy this in a future edition of Access2PDF. I don't want to install Access2PDF on my production web server. Can I install it on another computer and access the Access2PDF COM object remotely? Yes. In the support section of this website, we provide a tutorial for installing Access2PDF on an independent report server. What's New in Version 1.5.1Is version 1.5.1 backward compatible for applications written to use version 1.5.0? Yes. If you run into a problem, however, please provide feedback to support@access2pdf.com. New Features and Updates in Version 1.5.1: 1. Optional Filename Parameter 2. Custom Error Control to aid in development 3. The report name parameter MyReportName is no longer case sensitive. 4. Update made to the uninstall routine to reduce the potential for manual intervention required to remove Access2PDF. 5. Update made to memory management to prevent potential for MSACCESS.EXE to remain in memory following program execution. 6. Update made to prevent MDB or ADP file lock. This allows for file editing of the MDB or ADP in tandem with Access2PDF operation. Note: while editing a MDB or ADP file, Access2PDF will not print a report in said MDB or ADP but will respond with a custom error number to allow for application control. Using Access2PDFWill Access2PDF render a PDF when the report has no data? If the report is rendered in Access then Access2PDF will be able to generate a PDF. If you have an 'On No Data' event programmed which cancels the report, then Access2PDF will return an error. I installed Access2PDF and my application was running without problem. Now when I invoke Access2PDF the process times out. Chances are that Acesss2PDF is not registered. If you have purchased a license, unlock Access2PDF by installing the registration key.
