Installing Access2PDF
What Operating Systems Support Access2PDF?
 |
Windows 2000 Professional |
 |
Windows 2000 Advanced Server |
 |
Windows XP Professional |
What versions of Microsoft Access are
pre-requisite?
A full version of either Access 2000 or Access XP
(2002) installed on the same computer as Access2PDF is necessary. The
Access run-time engine alone is not sufficient to support Access2PDF.
What web servers support Access2PDF?
Your choice of web server depends largely on your choice
of application language. In other words, the language used to invoke the
Access2PDF COM object must be supported by the web server. We use Microsoft
IIS 5.0 for its support of ASP. Our
examples run on IIS.
What gets installed, when I install
Access2PDF?
Major components include:
 |
Access2PDF.DLL - The Access2PDF COM Object |
 |
RegisterAccess2PDF.exe - A utility to unlock the evaluation
version of Access2PDF. |
 |
Win2PDF - The Win2PDF printer driver from Dane Prairie Systems,
customized for Access2PDF. |
 |
RemoveCOM.exe - An uninstall routine |
Refer to the software's Readme.txt included with the
installation for a complete list of installed components.
I have installed Access2PDF version 1.5.0 and want to
upgrade to 1.5.1. What do I have to do?
You must unistall version 1.5.0 before installing 1.5.1.
Initiate the uninstall from the "Add and Remove Programs" module of your
Control Panel.
I already have Win2PDF installed on
the computer on which I will install Access2PDF. Will this pose a
problem?
Yes. At this time, the version of Win2PDF that installs with
Access2PDF cannot coexist with other Win2PDF versions on the same
computer. We intend to remedy this in a future edition of Access2PDF.
What's New in Version 1.5.1
Is version 1.5.1 backward compatible for applications
written to use version 1.5.0?
Yes. If you run into a problem, however, please provide feedback to
support.
New Features and Updates in Version 1.5.1:
1. Optional Filename Parameter
We have updated the Access2PDF method for PDF file name generation so that a
random 8 digit number is not by default appended to your user defined
'filename' prefix. In order to make use of a random 8 digit number as a
filename without a prefix, submit a value of 'FALSE' for the
MyPDFNamePrefix.
2. Custom Error Control to aid in development
We have provided custom error codes for developers to use for debugging and
to manipulate web output to end users. Error codes are as follows:
